Only to becoming an IFA priest blessed to make n study music to avoid the past life of crime n disrespect for women is my reasons balancing my evils to change my name from GREEN OZ to O-z Z GREEN SO MAKING THIS my 4th major ALBUM where da content of my faith coinside together with love n hate to spread a positive message to the youth n the grown.....
- Chasin' ladies n ridin' bikes, climbing trees n OZ GREEN's passion for music led him to buying his first set of turn tables the "Technics 100"s not 1200's that would come one yr later at Midwest Stereo. With my own money no hand outs grandma or pa s money all myself at 10 working 40 hrs a week at $1.00 hr. Damn I had to come up on the back end, yea till i got my first 1200 with Frankie Ramirez Sr. rip my best friend's dad. My biggest influence was watching him play opening live for EL Gran Combo at the Aragon was Frankie Quito Ramirez Jr. PLAYING A solo was mind blowing.
- 1983- At only 13 years old OZ GREEN DJ'd for his 8th grade graduation at Newton Bateman Elementary after party .
- 1984- He was inspired by Jesse Velez (World's smallest DJ by size comparison).Others would watch alongside as he Dj'd as well as break-dance by the 100's. Jesse Velez DJ' d first Dj to influnce NYC real hip hop culture at Rainbow Skating Rink leading to a record deal with Trax Records. His hit single Gurls Out on the Floor was a latin house music hit and classic till today.
- 1986- At the age of 15 (a sophomore in high school) he joined a graffiti group. In order to join the da Crew we had 2 jump across three rails at the train station and tag your name. Tagging all over da chi till i got arrested and had to clean the bus yards for community service. For my crime my tagging days turn to graffiti on shirts n sketch books making a choice to respect others property.
- 1991- OZ GREEN created a group Funk Division whose members where; O-Z GREEN , David Ramirez A.K.A Dah-V, Rick Colon A.K.A Roc-O, Michael Pacheco A.K.A Dig Em, and Daniel Pagan A.K.A Dumbo. The Group went to New York to record An album called Grey Skyz to Blu.
- In New York they stayed at Roc-O's uncle's house and all had to share a queen size bed until they met up with the manager of Power Play Studios (Gary Shay) where they stayed the rest of the trip until the album was finished in Manhattan,NY Greenwich Village.
- The album was recorded by the Infamous Ivan "Doc" Rodriguez and mixed by Chris Conway whom worked with artists such as KRS one, MC lyte,EPMD, and Eric B. & Rakim to name a few.
